The Basic Package (Secretary of State Minimum Requirement)
This package meets the mandatory minimum requirements set forth by the Secretary of State for teenage drivers. The package includes:
- 30 hours of classroom instruction (15 2-hour classes)
- 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction
- 6 hours of in-car observations
Each driving lesson is three hours (1.5 hours of driving and 1.5 hours of observation).

- 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction
By choosing this option, you eliminate the need for observation by completing four 1.5-hour and one 2-hour driving lessons. These are not private lessons. There may be other students in the car doing the observation portion of their package while the advanced student is driving.
